Announcing TAT 2009

The study of material culture is central to many fields in the humanities and the sciences. This shared interest in material culture rarely results in the cross-fertilisation of theoretical or methodological approaches, despite the obvious commonalities that exist in the study of an area fundamental to the construction of our physical and social worlds.

In an attempt to address this an interdisciplinary, graduate conference focusing on Material Culture will be held in University College Dublin from 5th-7th May.

The conference will bring together graduate researchers from a wide range of disciplines and countries in order to share and exchange ideas and approaches to material culture within their specialisms.

Submissions

Traditional papers (in English) of 15-20 mins in duration are sought under the conference themes.

Submit traditional abstracts of c.250 words or TatArt pieces here by the 16th March.

A limited number of international travel bursaries will be offered based on submitted abstracts. For more details email info@tat2009.com.
